Privacy Policy

VidsRank (“we”, “us”) is a competitive-intelligence platform for independent YouTube creators. This policy applies to everyone who uses vidsrank.com, our blog, and the VidsRank product (app.vidsrank.com) — the login flow, the channel-connection flow, and the underlying data pipeline that analyzes public YouTube signals.
What data we collect
- Account login (Google). When you sign in with Google, we store your email, name, Google account ID, and profile picture. This login is identity-only — it does not request any YouTube permissions on its own.
- Your connected YouTube channel (optional). If you choose to connect your own channel, you go through a separate Google OAuth grant. We store the resulting access/refresh tokens and the specific scopes you approved, and use them to read your channel’s videos, metadata, and analytics on your behalf.
- Public data about competitor channels. When you add competitor channels for comparison, we fetch publicly available channel and video metadata and statistics through the YouTube Data API, using our own service credentials — not on behalf of, or with any login from, those channels’ owners.
- Comment author identifiers (transient). To estimate audience overlap between channels, we briefly process identifiers of people who commented on public videos. This data is used only to compute an aggregate overlap score and is automatically deleted 30 days after collection — it is never shown to any user individually.
- Billing information. Subscription payments are processed by Polar.sh, acting as our Merchant of Record. VidsRank does not store your card details; we retain only subscription status and billing events needed to manage your plan.
How we use this data
We use your connected channel’s data and public competitor data to generate channel analytics, content suggestions, and ranked content opportunities for you. Third-party data (like comment author identifiers) is only ever used in aggregate — we do not expose, sell, or share it at the individual level.
Retention and deletion
Channel-level metrics (view counts, subscriber counts, published keywords) are kept historically, because detecting trends requires a multi-week baseline — this is core to how VidsRank works, not incidental caching. Comment author identifiers used for audience overlap are deleted automatically after 30 days. You can delete your account and its associated data at any time from your account settings.
Third parties
VidsRank uses YouTube API Services. By using VidsRank, you are agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s own data practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy. Subscription billing is handled by Polar.sh (using Stripe Connect for payment processing) — see their respective privacy policies for how they handle payment data.
Your rights
You can access and export the data associated with your account through the app, and delete your account and its data at any time from your account settings. For any other request or question about this policy, contact us at hello@vidsrank.com.
